Lead Time Breakdown:From Artwork to Bulk Production

Lead Time Breakdown:
From Artwork to Bulk Production

We believe you deserve to see exactly where your time goes. This is our full production timeline — every stage, every handoff, no guesswork.

Typical total lead time  ·  60–75 days  to port of destination

Most factories quote you a number. We show you the map. Each phase below represents a real workflow with defined inputs, outputs, and decision points — so when you ask “how long will this take?”, you have the full picture, not a promise.

“Transparency isn’t a feature. It’s the foundation of every order we take.”

Weave Essence · Production Philosophy

Production Stages · End-to-End

01

Artwork Review & Tech Pack Confirmation

3–5 days

Before a single thread is ordered

We begin every project by conducting a thorough review of your submitted artwork, color references, and construction specifications. This stage prevents costly rework downstream.

  • Color matching against Pantone / physical swatches
  • Yarn composition & weight confirmation
  • Fringe, border, and weave structure mapping
  • Written tech pack issued for your approval

Your sign-off on the tech pack is what starts the clock on sampling — not our assumption that everything is correct.

02

Sampling & Proto Development

10–14 days

Physical prototypes · typically 1–2 rounds

Our weavers produce 2–3 physical samples per colorway, woven on the production loom — not a sample loom — so what you receive is a true representation of the bulk output.

  • First proto shipped via DHL / FedEx with digital measurement report
  • Revision turnaround: 5–7 days per round
  • Hand-feel, drape, and dimensional accuracy assessed
  • Labelling and packaging mock-up included in final sample

Most designs require one revision round. Complex jacquard or multi-colorway orders should budget for two.

03

Sample Approval & Production Sign-Off

2–5 days

The formal green light

Once you receive and approve the final sample, you submit a written production approval. This triggers raw material procurement and loom scheduling — a formal, documented handoff.

  • Signed approval email or PO confirmation required
  • Final unit count, colorway split, and delivery window locked
  • Deposit invoice issued (typically 30–50% of order value)

Production does not begin until written approval and deposit are received. This protects both parties.

04

Bulk Production Weaving

20–30 days

The longest stage · scales with order volume

Looms are allocated and bulk weaving begins. Our production manager sends weekly photo updates from the floor — you’ll see your scarves mid-weave, not just at the finish line.

  • Output: 800–1,200 units per loom per day (standard weight)
  • In-line quality checks every 200 units
  • Week 1 photo report: first 10% of production confirmed on spec
  • Deviation alert protocol: any issue flagged within 24 hours

Orders under 500 units run on a shared loom schedule. Orders 500+ are allocated dedicated loom time — faster and more consistent.

05

Quality Inspection & Finishing

5–7 days

100% inspection · not sampling

Every unit is hand-inspected against the approved sample. Finishing includes fringe trimming, washing (if specified), pressing, tagging, and folding to your packaging brief.

  • Defect threshold: <0.5% — any excess is re-woven, not shipped
  • Measurement audit: 10% of units measured against spec sheet
  • Pre-shipment inspection report with photos issued to you
  • Third-party QC (SGS / Bureau Veritas) available on request

You receive the QC report before we book the freight. If anything is out of spec, you decide — not us.

06

Export & Ocean Freight

18–25 days

Port to port · destination dependent

Goods are palletised, containerised, and shipped. We handle all export documentation — commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and customs declarations. We partner with two freight forwarders for competitive routing.

  • FCL or LCL depending on volume (we advise on cost-efficiency)
  • Real-time container tracking link shared at booking
  • Typical transit: 18–22 days to US East Coast / UK / Europe
  • Balance payment due before or at bill of lading release

Air freight is available for urgent orders or top-up quantities — quoted separately. Transit: 5–7 days.
